The Classic Rock Awards Creating a Brighter Future

The partners of the Classic Rock Awards (CRA) met on November 18 and confirmed that, following universal artist support, the Classic Rock Awards will remain in Tokyo. A 90-minute edited broadcast of the event, which took place on November 11 at Ryogoku Kokugikan Stadium in Tokyo, Japan will be seen around the world in over 40 markets internationally. The CRA partners, TeamRock, KLab Entertainment and Parallel Contemporary Music (PCM), will meet again in 2017 to confirm details of the 2017 event.

Billy Anderson, CEO of TeamRock stated, “The Classic Rock Awards 2016 was a huge success, involving both artists playing and artists presenting. It was fantastic to receive so much support from rock fans around the world. I would like to thank all of the rock fans in Japan who attended this year’s event for helping to take the Classic Rock Awards to another level.”

David Ciclitira, Chairman of PCM said, “As soon as I had heard that Tokyo had won the right to host the Olympic games, it seemed natural to take the Classic Rock Awards, “the Oscars of rock,” to Tokyo and to find a way to include it as part of the 2020 celebrations. It has been an amazing experience working together with such a great team. I would personally like to single out Mr. Sanada–the CEO of KLab Entertainment–for having the vision to bring an idea to reality.”

Sanada, CEO of KLab Entertainment said, “This was quite a learning experience for us this year. I was humbled by the support we received from the Japanese rock community. We will use what we learned from the Classic Rock Awards 2016 to bring everyone an even better event next year.”

The partners said, “There can be no doubt that the fans who left the stadium on November 11 experienced something truly unique. At the same time, we recognize that there has been some misunderstanding as to who was due to present and who was playing. To settle this issue, we would like to offer all of the fans who attended this year’s event exclusive priority access and a discount of the ticket price for next year’s event. For anyone that was in any way disappointed, we will be happy to refund their ticket.”

The partners will meet once again early next year in Tokyo to confirm the details of the 2017 event in order to bring rock fans around the world the chance to visit Tokyo and to experience another night of legendary performances by the biggest artists in rock at the Classic Rock Awards 2017.
